Shine so bright...

Happy Saturday!

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday---it's weekend, phew! Still as busy as a regular weekday, but not as fast paced.

I was able to get some crafting done. I am tackling my abundance amount of pictures that are screaming at me to get scrapbooked. I'm getting there, I'm getting there.

I decided to do anther challenge...this one from a relatively new blog, at least to me! Paper Lover's Studio, found here.

Here's my take on the scraplift challenge #3.

I used mostly October Afternoon papers, from various collections, along with OA chipboard. The red corrugated letters are from Jillibean Soup; the kraft letters are from Making Memories, with purple glitter glue on the 'shine' words.

Have a great weekend.

Be safe. Get crafty.

So thankful.....

Happy Friday! WOW--can't believe it's Friday already. I found that the week has flown by...again.

It;s Friday, which means, another Friends with flair post. Love doing those challenges!

I did this one a little differently. I think I would normally do a card, but I am a scrapbooker first, and boy! am I getting behind! So, I did a layout. With 3 of my favorite subjects. my kids, of course.

I also realized that I have to be brave and use up some of my beautiful papers....I don't think I'm the only one out there who doesn't want to use their gorgeous papers because they are just too darn beautiful! Right?? :)

One of my favorite lines is MME, which I used for the layout. I adore this line. I don't think there is a collection from them that I do not like. This line is 'On the bright side'.

The picture was taken last June. I look at this picture, and look at my kids now, and realize that they have grown so much. Both my boys are over 6 feet, and have not hit 15 yet!!! Yeesh! My little girl has long hair, and is  talkative, active, never a dull moment kinda gal! They're my world and I'm thankful to have them.

I used some of my Unity stamps--'splatters and stars' (but used only the stars!) and the stamp 'Noted by' (a Jillibean/Unity stamp). Some MME washi, and some Umwow studio chipboard stars, and a Maya Road heart...a few of my faves!

So, that's it for me!

Have a great weekend.

Be safe. Get crafty.

Monday with a layout

Hi folks!

How was your weekend?? Is it just me, or does the weekend just zoom on by?? Yeesh!

So, I did a layout this morning. I started to clean my craft room, and sort of got sidetrack...oops! hehe!

I decide to participate in a challenge over at Scrapbooker's Paradise, found here. I haven't played with them for a while...decided to give it a go.

I used a variety of my faves here: 2 of my fave companies, October afternoon and Basic Grey; a little washi, some corrugated letters, a few brads, and some stamps from Unity, along with a chipboard arrow from Umwow Studio. I also used my Distress Paints...I swooshed them across the page...I wasn't sure where I was going with this. I followed a sketch pretty much, but was still stumped. Go figure! lol

So, that's it for me for today.

I am also entering this layout into the following:
Crop Chocolate's Cocoa Creations #6-favourites
Anything but a card challenge #22: Get messy

Have a great day! Stay cool, be safe.

Get crafty.

It's Friday---and summer!!!!!!!

Happy Friday y'all!

How has your week been going?? Excited for the weekend?? I am relieved that it's Friday. It's my last workday and then I'm off for the summer. And the weather is beautiful today. Finally. I am hoping we can jump into the pool this weekend.

Another Friends with Flair card. This one was made super, SUPER quick. I wanted to make a card last night, but I was stumped. Then it came to me what I wanted to make....at 2:30 in the MORNING! WELL! Let me tell you, I did NOT get up to make that card.....thankfully the idea stayed in my memory, and I made it this morning. Less than 15 minutes...couldn't find the stamp I wanted to use. If I found it, the card would have taken less than 5 for sure. Seriously. lol Yep, I need to get my craft room in order---it's pretty chaotic right now.

Love these stamps. Super easy, super cute!

The papers are EP Eclectic, colored with a mix of watercolor pencils, my Bic markits, and a glitter pen. That's it!.

I am entering this card in the following:
Sister Act card Challenge---anything goes
Unity Friends with Flair challenge

Have a great day! Be safe. Get crafty.

Happy Thursday!

Happy Thursday to you!!

How's the weather?? Here, BEE-O-TIFUL! Sunny skies, not too hot {yet!}! About time if you ask me! :)

A quick post today.

I made this card with my SOG stamp.....love them over there. Very friendly bunch, and the creativity..yowza! One can get lost among the sea of creativity over there.

Ain't she purty???

Of course, my coloring still needs work...alot! lol But she was fun to color with my watercolor pencils.

The patterned papers are Basic Grey; the cardstock are from Bazzill; and those flowers are DCWV. Bling is from Prima, and that little sentiment sticker is from a sticker page I 'borrowed' from my DD. I embossed the light blue cardstock (can't tell from the pic, which is taken from my phone...can't find my wire for my good camera..grr!!) with my swirl Sizzix texture fades folder. The ribbon on the side is something from my stash...had it for a long, long time.

That's it for me today.

I'm entering this card in the following:
SOG June Sketch Challenge
Ribbon Carousel Challenge82--fun in the sun
Sister Act Card challenge--anything goes

See you tomorrow!

Friends with Flair first

Happy Friday!

Just a quick post today, or rather, this evening!

I am a HUGE Unity fan---love their stamps, and being new to the stamping game, or relatively new, their stamps were one of the first stamps in my collection. Which is multiplying. I have no clue. Seriously. teehee!

They have challenges, and since I am an avid follower of their blog, follow their challenges.

Finally did one of their challenges last month...that was fun.

Now, I did one for Friends with Flair, which is Friday's challenge, found here

Here it is.

I made this card with my co-worker in mind. She's had a rough week , actually past couple of weeks, and in all honesty, I am anticipating (or perhaps predicting would be a better word??) that her Monday will not start off well. I think this will bring a smile to her face.

The patterned paper are from Jillibean Soup, and the ribbon is brown dotted organza.

That's it. I am hoping to get more crafting done this weekend. Fingers crossed.

Be safe. get crafty.

Getting my craft on.

Hi all! It's Saturday---and Boy! Am I ever happy it is Saturday. What a rough week....and it was long. Too long. Like 6 days too long. Ok. Maybe 5. Anyways, it's over. Phew!

So, I haven't had a chance to get crafty these past few days....but I was determined today. Actually last night I made that promise to myself....I had , HAD being the operative word here, wanted to start something last night, but got too involved in the movie we had put on, and then fell asleep. So much for that.

Anyways, here's my first project. It'd for my hubby for Father's Day next week. I just HAD to try out my new stamp from Unity Stamps...the 'Alex' stamp. I renamed the stamp to 'Keith', for my hubby. lol .

I love this stamp! This is what my hubby does---he's quite handy to have around. Now if the stamp had bigger muscles, as my hubby is a very muscular dude...But hey! I'll make do! :)

I used a Bazzill cs base, with wood grain paper from EP This & That charming collection, green washi tape was from Etsy, the star chipboards are from UmWow Studio, colored with Metallic Distress stain, the stamps are Unity, colored with my watercolor pencils. This was super fun to color.

I am entering this card in a few challenges:

This week's theme was 'Forget Feb., June is the month of Love!
That's right! create a project about weddings. Came at the perfect time, as I am still not finished my wedding album...*GASP!* lol

So, there you have it!

Papers are from 7 Gypsies, DCWV, butterflies are from MM paper reverie, edged with Momento yellow ink, heart from FP Lilac house, LOVE die cut is also from MM, doily and doily tape are from the dollar store. The Love quote is from EP Be Mine collection, pearls are BG.

I'm hoping to finish more crafts this weekend, but we'll see. With this weather, it's perfect time to curl on the couch and watch a good movie. We'll see.
