Birthday card with Flair

Happy Friday!

I don't know about you all, but I am certainly relieved that it's Friday. What a week!

Just going to make this a quick post today. My sons' asked me to make a birthday card for their good friend who was having a Birthday party today. My boys are spending the night, doing 'boy stuff', with their XBox and lots and lots of snacks. Thank goodness it's not at my house....a handful of teenage boys, together in one room?? The smell (lol), and my poor fridge! lol

Anyhow.Their good friend plays guitar, and they requested that the card have a guitar.  I knew I also wanted to get a card accomplished for Unity Friends with Flair. BUT. I do not have a guitar stamp from Unity. The only guitar stamp I do have in possession is from Inkadinkadoo (one of my very first stamp sets), WAY before I discovered Unity. I wanted to add stars, so I used the stars from Unity's Stars and Splatters, a Simple Stories Unity set.
I heat embossed the guitar with ZING! silver metallic embossing powder, along with the sentiment. The stars were stamped with Kaisercraft inks, Jade and teal, and the red is from Momento. I added a little Stickles to the guitar, to give a little color. The base is from Authentique Genuine, and the red paper is from CB Well-Traveled.
I then stamped the inside of the card with a simple Happy Birthday, also from Unity.

I am linking this up to Unity Friends with Flair challenge.

I hope my boys enjoy themselves, and that their friend likes the card!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday with Tabitha

Hiya!

I finished up my daughter's birthday card (finally!). And just in time for a challenge submission!

I had wanted to do this card differently. I admire people who fussy cut (Scrappy Canuck!), and do paper piecing and such. I do not have the patience for that, or so I thought.

I had purchased this Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp, Tabitha, last year, and my daughter (who turned 4 on Sunday--yes, her card is late!) LOVES to color her girl, as she calls it! So, this year for her  card, I used said stamp, and paper pieced it all. OMG---cramped fingers, but it was fun!
Will I do this again? Probably. I really enjoyed it. And DD loves her card, so it was worth it!

That's it for me. I'm linking this card up to Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Wonderful Wednesday Challenge

SOG tag

Happy Hump Day! I hope you are all well!

I won't even ask how the weather is, because if it's anything like here in Quebec, it's not good! ;)

Can you believe that it's almost February? Already?

I *almost* didn't get to finish my project for a challenge I like to partake in over on the Some Odd Girl blog

This month was about tags.

Mission accomplished.

This one was different for me. No coloring involved.

Paper Pieced.

Every.Single. Piece. Of. Her. OMG--My fingers are a tad cramped. BUT! It was so fun!

A great way to use up scraps. The raindrops were inked up with Distress Ink Salty Ocean, heat embossed with Inkadinkadoo Linen white embossing powder, which was also used on the Jillibean Soup Corrugated cloud.

Super fun!

Have a great day! Stay warm!

Tube-lar Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!

Is it cold in your neck of the woods?? It is past cold here....seriously! Currently standing at -25'C, with the wind chill, feels like -33'C (I think that is like -11 'F ) It's frigid.

I am thankful that I am at home today...it's been busy for the past week, with DD's big day on Sunday---she is now 4! woot! And no work for me until Friday. So, I got scrapping last night. yippee!

I based it on an awesome sketch over on the Scrap365 blog. It's too awesome to miss this baby!

Isn't it great???

Here's my layout:
I used Fancy Pants corrugated paper as the background, used my Distress paints to go over it, to tone it down; the layers are from Authentique Genuine papers; blue letters are from Bella Blvd. Sophisticates line; American Thickers; Elle's Studio tags ('this is the good life','Oh fun!'); MME tags ('Wild and free','Adventure seeker'' what an adventure')), Jillibean label stickers, Fancy Pants clear acetate die (snowflake border), Studio Calico wood heart; twine.

I like how this layout turned out...I'm getting 'braver' to use messier products. :)

That's it for me for now.

Be safe. Be warm! Get crafty.

TGIF with bacon

Happy Friday!

Just a quick post tonight to share a card I made with these adorable stamps I received from my friend. They are Unity stamps , and they are perfect for my household--5 bacon lovers here! I added some cute little eyes, and cut out the stamped images from bacon-colored paper...if that's possible. ;)

I like the way it turned out. My guys got a kick out of it.

Isn't it cute?? It makes me smile.

That's it for me for now. Trying to finish off my daughter's birthday card, among other tings. It 's the big day soon...eek! My baby is turning 4 on Sunday!

I am entering this card into Unity Friends with Flair and into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-let's have a laugh

Have a great weekend!

Thankful Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!
How has your week been going so far?? Mine....pretty good!

I made 2 cards today, actually had them planned out but could only physically get them  created this morning.

These cards are for our Reverend and his wife. They are leaving our church to go to another church closer to their family, in another province. Church politics---not fun.

Anyways, our congregation will miss them greatly. They are considered part of our family. My sons admire the Reverend very much, and have had many biblical discussions with him. His wife is a treasure to our community, and I am heartbroken to know that she will not be involved any longer with our fundraisers...she brings much joy and laughter.

And so, I made them a Thank you card and a miss you card. Cards that I never really have enough of. Go figure.

Supplies used:
Thank you Card:
Blue background paper-DCWV, Sizzix butterfly die used to cut Teresa Collins Fabrications papers; Sizzix swirl embossing folder; Queen & Co. twine; MME 'thank you' sticker; Ranger Goldenrod Stickles

Missing you card:
background paper from DCWV; grey patterned paper and tag element from Jillibean Soup; sentiment stamp from Simon Says Stamps, ink --Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade; twine is from WRMK; wooden butterfly is from Studio Calico.

I am linking these cards up to the Simon Says Emboss It challenge.

Well, that's it for me. Got to pop these off into the mailbox. Busy, busy, busy. It's Dance class for Miss Muffet tonight, so early supper is in order.

Until next time.

A lìl bit.....

Happy Friday to you all!!! Busy week?? For myself...kinda stressful. My laptop died..so am now using my dinosaur of a laptop...soooo....sllloooww..

Anyhows.

I ave been diligent with my goals so far for 2014. Even though we are half way through January. One being creating at least 1 layout a week. So far so good.

Here`s my layout I created, using a Unity stamp. It was one I found during the process of `cleaning`my craft room...love that!

A lìl bit of April....she`s turning 4 next weekend, and I wanted to capture some of her at 3. The lists are movies, food, and toys. Pretty much her world right now.

I used Lawn Fawn paper, kraft shipping tags, stamped with Momento Ink (with Unity stamp) , washi tape is from MME, purple glitter letters are from Cosmo Cricket, blue letters are from American Crafts, with the other letters are from stash (I think mostly are from BG). That 'love' heart is from Studio Calico, and that die cut in the corner is from MME, as is the twine. The flair button is from American Crafts.

Party invites with Unity

TGIF!!!
I don't about you, but I am so relieved that it's Friday.

I'll keep this post short,  as I have so much to do tonight.

My DDs birthday is coming up (she's going to be 4!! OMG!!!) and she's having a small family get together. ..a party of sorts.  Of course, if you ask her, she's having the gala of the year. Anyway, we always make the invitations and mail them to her cousins.  So, we pulled out the stamps and cards. And since it's Friday, why not use Unity stamps? Two birds, one stone kinda deal.
So I used that adorable cake stamp, which my daughter loves and wants a cake like that and pink and purple. Aahh...maybe not! Then again, who knows, right? ?

I used my watercolor pencils, and stamped the 'Party'  in Distress Ink Picked Raspberry and WRMK purple sweetheart inker. The gold is golden Stickles.

That's it for me for now. I am off to make more of these. I am linking this up to Unity Friends with Flair challenge.

Be safe. Get crafty.

My little word....

Hiya folks!
How is the weather in your neck of the woods? For us, it has been bitterly cold, and I mean BITTERLY cold. The temps had dropped in the minus 30's, and the wind is just insane! Lots of snow, which has tapered off for now. I am a Canadian, and am used to harsh winters, but this has to be one of the coldest winters I have ever experienced in my life!. So, please stay warm!

Besides the weather, and me still being under the weather, I hope 2014 has gotten off to a good start for you.

Any resolutions? goals? Little words??? :)

For myself, I have a word. A word that I must remember this year. ACCEPT. So many things. I feel after the year 2013, this word is perfect for me.

Over on the S.W.A.T blog, there is a challenge, drill #23, word for 2014. To create a project to showcase your word. Challenge accepted, challenge accomplished.

For my layout, I just went with it.....no per-determined steps or embellies or papers....just 'went' with it. I have journalling on my layout, but it is personal, so I combined a couple of MME journal, and made a 'folder', held together by a round clip.
Just a modge podge of various elements. I used Distress cardstock for the base, used Distress paints, and gelatos for the edging, MME Sweetest Thing Tangerine papers,  MME journal cards and elements, various letter stickers from Authentique, Kelly Purkey, and Studio Calico. Maya Road love heart, and various elements from Cosmo Cricket, Teresa Collins, American Crafts, and Creative Imaginations, and that awesome arrow is from UmWow Studio. The stamps are from Autumn Leaves, a license plate stamp set..never used before.

I am linking this up to the challenge over on the SWAT blog:

S.W.A.T Drill #23 One WORD for 2014

So, that's it for me for now. I am hoping to post again really soon. And I am thinking of doing a giveaway. Imagine that?? Who doesn't love receiving a happy package in the mail??

Be safe. (and warm) Get crafty.

CAS cards for FWF

Hiya folks! Happy (Be)Lated New Year! I hope you all had a saf and sound start to the new year! We have been busy here, and I am posting my cards under the wire, almost, for Unity Friends with Flair. Eek! lol

So, I'll keep the post short, and show the cards. My style seems to be CAS, but I'm working on trying different techniques this year (one of my goals!)
Gotta love sock monkeys! And I did not realize that I had cute papers that match that itty bitty...Basic Grey 'Hey Boy!'. The sentiment is from Jillibean Soup, and the sock monkey is stamped with TH Spiced Marmalade.

This stamp is one of my first purchases at Unity. It is so serene, to me.I stamped the image in Hero Arts ink, and the papers are from MME blush. 'Love' image is stamped in pink Inkadinkadoo ink, heat embossed with AC Zing! embossing powder. The wooden button is from stash, and the pearl butterfly is Making Memories (I think?)

So, that's it for me.

Be safe. Get crafty. (Be warm)
