Special requests for Friday

TGIF Anyone?? Me...kind of! My boys have a ped day from school today (already??), and well, they've welcomed that ped day with wide open arms. I must admit, their first 3 weeks of Grade 10 have been rough. I think the teachers put the 'FEAR' into them....I honestly have never seen them so hyped up about excelling...YAY!

Anyways. Fridays mean Friends with Flair, to me anyways. I actually look forward to their Friday challenge...it straightens my day, kind of! Wierd, huh?

So. My boys are 15. Teens mean.....girls. Ugh! lol. One of my boys (they're twins) came to me the other night and asked me if I could possible make a card for him to give to a....GIRL!!!! My heart almost stopped!!! It almost stopped because a) he ASKED ME!!! to make him a card (proud moment--let me wipe my tear!) and b) it is for a girl's birthday! Her birthday is on Monday. Now the pressure is on. What kind of card? Will she like it?? Will she break my son's heart?? EEK! (Anyone else gong/went through this??? Tips, anyone???)

I asked him what type of stamps he wanted me to us, and he went to my ...err..stash!..of Unity stamps. He picked out 2 that really caught his eye. Then it was paper choices. Let me say, the lad has taste...he picked out Fancy Pants Designs 'Trendsetter' pad. That's my boy! :)

So, I made the 2 cards, and let me say, I was sweating! Good grief, if I was sweating to make cards for a girl, what will I be like when he actually dates?? Oh boy!

I didn't want to make them mushy, or lovey, or too girly. I think they're alright for someone to give to  another. I don't know which one he'll choose. Eek! My nerves are shot....I need a cup of tea, I think!!!

Anyways, that's it for me.

Be safe. Get crafty.

I think that is the most adorable thing ever! How fun that he wanted you to make a card to give and they both turned out great! I think the next logical step is teaching the boys how to make their own cards!

Your post made me smile. No kids, so no advice. Enjoyed the cards and the story, though!

Both cards cards are adorable. I think its so sweet that he asked you to make a card. My 16 year old step-son asked me if I knew how to make a mum, because he might ask someone to homecoming. I was smiling on the outside, but a little scared...because I have never made a mum!

What an awesome mom you are! And what a wonderful relationship you must have with him for him to ask you! Yes, I agree with everyone that both cards are great - let us know what happens with the girl!!! :)
