Sunday with 2 layouts

Happy Sunday, y'all!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend? Kind of quiet, yet busy at the same time over here!

I finished 2 layouts yesterday....for 2 challenges. I think they still need some tweaking...or maybe not.

I'm not sure.

The first one is for Sketchbook 365 October sketch challenge,. The sketch appealed to me very much.
I knew what picture I wanted to use.
I didn't want to overpower the picture, I wanted to keep the focus on the picture. I didn't want to use too many embellies...and I think I succeeded!
Papers are from MME; flowers and journal tags are from OA. Those beautiful pink vellum butterflies are Jenni Bowlin. The 'love' sticker is from Jillibean Soup, 'those' from TH and 'EYES' are from BG.
The flower jewel is from Pebbles, and the jewel is from Teresa Collins.

My second layout is for Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo: Citrine #2.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my take on that particular sketch:
Again, another one about my DD.....she's a character! :)

The papers are from MME; washi tape is from EP, tags are from Karen Foster, Elle's Studio, and MME, Chipboard is from Fancy Pants Designs, with foam American Crafts Thickers. The pocket is a Unity stamp, colored with Copics, Distress markers and Sharpies.

So, that's it for me for today.

I wish you all a great Sunday!

Le Princesse

Morning folks!!!
How is you???

Just a quick post today to show another layout I made from a sketch over on S.W.A.T. (Scrap Warriors Advanced Training). Ok--so the name sounds pretty intense, and I must admit, I was intimidated for a while. But they have some darn good sketches over there, and I wanted to try. So, I did.

The sketch this week:

Drill #16 Sketchy Saturday

Tied up in Twine

Pretty cool, n'est pas???

Here's my take:
Yep, le Princess--our princess!

I used Authentique back ground paper and letter stickers 'LE', with Simple Stories 'Fabulous' patterned papers; Echo Park washi tapes; American Crafts Thickers 'Princesse' and brads, and the twine is from Queen and Co., TH tiny attacher, Glossy Accents (for the twine), Glue Arts adhesive.

So, that's it for me.

Have a great day.

Be safe. Get Crafty.

Cluck, cluck

Hiya folks!
How was your Monday so far??

I know I'm posting late, but I really wanted to get this layout done, and post it on my blog tonight. Could Not Wait! Know what I mean??? ;)

I have had this idea for a layout for some time now...and FINALLY put my idea to paper...it also helps when one has a great sketch!

Over at Scrapbook Steals, on their blog, there is a new challenge started. Mid week mojo.....a series of weekly challenges, starting on the Wednesday, and finishing on Monday evening at 11:59 pm.

Now do you see why I am posting late??

So, here's the sketch:
And here's my layout:

Yep---those are chickens!!!

I used a variety of supplies: Cardstock is Ranger, patterned papers are Lawn Fawn, and the journal spots and little cute embellies are all from Jillibean Soup---aren't they perfect?

So, that's it for me for now. I hope to get some more crafting time in this week....pretty much depends on Baby Girl...she's pretty sick right now.

Be safe. Get crafty.

Some Odd Saturday

Happy Saturday! Rainy day here, so I decided to get crafty. (Much to my hubby's chagrin...pish posh, I say!lol)

I decide to get some cards done with one of my fave stamp companies....Some Odd Girl. They are so awesome....love those designs! Digital, clear and even cut files !! They have them! So, I signed up at Some Odd World, and I love the chit chat over there! Those girls are talented!

And I made some cards. I am a clear stamp gal...I have yet to dabble in digital stamping, or even cut files. So, I have a couple of clear stamps....definitely need to get more. Yep!

Here are my creations:

This little fairy is a cutie--definitely has a spot in my heart. It is also my very first SOG (Some Odd Girl) stamp, which I won on their blog.  I used October Afternoon's Witch Hazel papers, sentiment, and die cuts. The green paper is actually handmade paper. For the fairy, I used my Derwent watercolor pencils..
Same fairy, colored differently for a different season! Papers are from Fancy Pants Designs, and the white paper is again handmade paper. She is colored with my Derwent watercolor pencils. The die cut is from a snowflake die (Sizzix/Basic Grey), embossed with my trusty Cuttlebug machine. Then the snowflake was embossed with blue and clear iridescent embossing powders. The tag is an Inkadinkadoo stamp, on vellum.
This little gal is again colored with Derwent watercolors, assembled on Fancy Pants Park bench collection. The flower is fussy cut from the same papers, with a black pearl (Simon Says Stamp) and a white pearl (Basic Grey).
The same stamp as above, colored differently. This one was assembled with the SOG monthly challenge in mind. I wanted to do something differently. And I think I did. I used Jillibean Soup collection, Neapolitan Bean Bisque. I was looking at the telephones, and a song came on, Carly Rae's 'Call me maybe'....Perfect! I used my Imaginisce I-Top hole puncher thingie (excuse the proper terminology) and snipped off the side.

I based it off the sketch:
So that's it for me. If you get a chance, hop on over to Some Odd Girl, and check out Kristy's blog! She's Uber great! And then go on over to the Some Odd World...loads of fun there!

Have fun!
Be safe. Get crafty.

Special requests for Friday

TGIF Anyone?? Me...kind of! My boys have a ped day from school today (already??), and well, they've welcomed that ped day with wide open arms. I must admit, their first 3 weeks of Grade 10 have been rough. I think the teachers put the 'FEAR' into them....I honestly have never seen them so hyped up about excelling...YAY!

Anyways. Fridays mean Friends with Flair, to me anyways. I actually look forward to their Friday challenge...it straightens my day, kind of! Wierd, huh?

So. My boys are 15. Teens mean.....girls. Ugh! lol. One of my boys (they're twins) came to me the other night and asked me if I could possible make a card for him to give to a....GIRL!!!! My heart almost stopped!!! It almost stopped because a) he ASKED ME!!! to make him a card (proud moment--let me wipe my tear!) and b) it is for a girl's birthday! Her birthday is on Monday. Now the pressure is on. What kind of card? Will she like it?? Will she break my son's heart?? EEK! (Anyone else gong/went through this??? Tips, anyone???)

I asked him what type of stamps he wanted me to us, and he went to my ...err..stash!..of Unity stamps. He picked out 2 that really caught his eye. Then it was paper choices. Let me say, the lad has taste...he picked out Fancy Pants Designs 'Trendsetter' pad. That's my boy! :)

So, I made the 2 cards, and let me say, I was sweating! Good grief, if I was sweating to make cards for a girl, what will I be like when he actually dates?? Oh boy!

I didn't want to make them mushy, or lovey, or too girly. I think they're alright for someone to give to  another. I don't know which one he'll choose. Eek! My nerves are shot....I need a cup of tea, I think!!!

Anyways, that's it for me.

Be safe. Get crafty.

Thursday with a Thank you

Happy Thursday! WOW--Thursday already! Yeeshka!

I was able to get some more crafting today/last night. YAY for me!

As I mentioned before, I enjoy challenge blogs. One that I try to submit an entry for often is over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog They have amazing challenges, and this week is to stamp on anything but plain paper.Fun, right?

Anyways, I had this canvas/muslim bag for some time now. Not sure where I got it, but it seemed to have pop up in my stash in the past year. Seriously! Was not sure what I was going to do with, neither. Enter this challenge. Use a stamp from my SSS card kit, and Voila! It was more trial and error here, but overall, it was quite fun!

I used Momento Red ink to stamp on the bag, which, to my surprise, worked very well. The stamps are from SSS May card kit, the Mother's Day stamp set. Love those roses. Stamped the roses, then edged them with my one Copic marker (!!) rose pink. The leaves were stamped in green ink, not sure what brand it is, but it also worked alright. I lightly touched the stem and leaves with my green Sharpie. The 'thank you' is from also from another SSS set, July set, I believe. (sorry, can't remember the exact name..;Z)

I am actually linking this up to Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Use a product available in Simon's store.

So, there you go. A simple little canvas bag, ready to have a little gift popped into, and given as a gift! Hopefully, it sticks around, and my DD doesn't think it's hers! *Sigh.....toddlers! lol

Have a great day.

Be safe. Get crafty.

Sketchabilities Challenge #99

Happy Tuesday folks!

It's a short work week for me, so I decided to take some for me...and get crafty!!!

I love sketches. They sure do help one with their crafting. Especially me. Although, I will admit, sometimes they don't! And I also like challenge blogs. I try to participate in as many challenges as I can....some weeks, unfortunately, I do ot get to enter any. Anyways, life happens.

There's one challenge blog that keeps my interest piqued! Sketchabilities! Awesome sketches, awesome DT!

This week, the challenge is this sketch:
Isn't that a great sketch??

Here's my take:
I had this picture of my sons' for a long time, and wanted to get them scrapped! I used various papers from my stash...long acquired rub-ons....Thickers...Inkadinkadoo stamps on shipping tags...Pink Paislee  star paper and star, covered with Distress paint.
I wanted a little Las Vegas, a little flash, but definitely not too much, so I used Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold spray...and there are a couple of drop of Coffee color spray also from Tattered Angels. That acrylic arrow is from Studio Calico.

That's it for me.
Thanks for dropping by.

Be safe. Get crafty.

Friends with Flair Friday....yippee!

Happy Friday the 13th, folks!
I don't know about you, but I am so relieved that it's Friday...what a week! With work, kids back to school, and me re-organizing my house (again!) and that's including my craft area (again!), I need to get some stress out. Time to craft!

I took some time this morning to construct a card for a dear friend of mine who's going through an extremely rough time. Broke out one my Unity stamps, too! I used Basic Grey's Hopscotch collection for the papers...that collection has to be one of my BG faves. Very simple card....surprisingly enough, it took me longer than expected. Must be out of practice! lol
I also dug out my Cuttlebug, and used the blossom folder, just to give it a little more Oomph! The card did not turn out how I envisioned...but oh, well.

That's it for me for now. I'm hoping to get more crafting done today...depends on  my DD, I guess. She's trying to 'help' me sort out my craft room....Lord help me! lol (I'm not getting much done!)

I'm entering this card in the following;
Unity Stamp friends with Flair
Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge--Emboss it!

Anyways. Be safe. Get crafty.

Some odd girl card swap

Happy Saturday!

How are you all? I hope you had a great week---it went by so quickly! I worked a little bit more this past week...but I have a feeling it is going to die down for now.

My boys are back in school..Grade 10...wow! We had a dental appointment for little Miss on  Wednesday past...that went without a hitch (Thank you Lord!!!) The dentist and hygienists  were amazingly fantastic with her, and she made me so proud!! Afterwards we went to buy her ballet outfit, because little Miss starts her ballet classes this Sunday...tomorrow! ack! :) She was not a happy shopper in the boutique as her bodysuit had to be the color Royal Blue, to match the other students. Little Miss's fave colors are pink and purple...good Lawd! Not a happy little girl, let me tell you. Miss Pouty McPouterson! lol
But she's already to start, after spending a small fortune for her basics...good grief! Does it have to be so costly?????
Anyways, I did not get a chance to scrap this week....time just goes so fast. But I did receive a special card in the mail. I participated in a card swap recently, and I had such a blast making the card.
The card swap was over on Some Odd Girl's forum , and it is amazing! Such great girls! And the talent...wow!
Anyways, here's my card that I sent over to the UK.

I still have to work on my coloring, but overall, I think I did an OK job. I used some Petaloo flowers, which were kind of hard for me to do, because I am not really a flower kind of gal. But I really want to use them. I need to use them properly, I guess. I fell like they just look wierd on my cards and layouts.
Anyways.
My swap partner received it and said that she liked it, so that's good. I hope the flowers were still intact.
And this is the card that I received.
Ain't she purty??? Love this card, and it is now displayed on my mantle, so people can see it as they walk into my living room. Thanks Sarah!

So, that's it for me for now. Hoping to get some crafting done today.

Be safe. Get crafty.

Bubble fun

Happy Tuesday!
I don't know about you but the holiday threw me off schedule somehow. I thought this morning was Monday...ack! But we're one day closer to the weekend! :)

Quick post today.
I finished another layout, I am a little closer at achieving my goal of actually catching up on my scrapbooking. A little closer. A little bit.

Of course, it's about my kids, one of them. My darling daughter. I made rings to reflect bubbles. I used one of my faves, Distress Paints...Yay!! Love those paints...I admit I use the paints more often than the inks, and I incorporate these guys into 90% of my layouts...seriously. I **LOVE*** them...need to get more colors. :z

Anyhows. That's it for me today.

Labor Day with layouts

Happy Labor Day folks!

Can you believe that it is already September???
I can't believe how CRAZY it has been in my life---absolutely no time for crafting whatsoever! Which, as you may understand, drives me crazy! For a couple of reasons....lol

So, yesterday, I had a chance to dust off my supplies and get crafty.

I completed a few layouts. YAY ME!

I also accomplished a couple of challenges. Double YAY!

So, without further adieu, here are my creations.

I followed a recipe challenge, found over on the Paper Lovers Studio. The recipe: 3 patterned papers, background stamping, a punched shape, and your handwriting.

Check, check, check, and check!

I broke out papers from Pink Paislee Nantucket collection (papers are absolutely GORGEOUS!), the cardstock is from Ranger Distress Collection; Butterfly stamp is from MME 'My Girl' collection, Jillibean Soup letters ('little'), Studio Calico ('girl'), Jenni Bowlin notebook paper, heart die cut is from MME, '3' is fro October Afternoon, and the heart is TH Grungeboard, inked with Hero Arts Neon pink.

I am also linking up this layout to :Paper Playtime Ch#18...Use 3 different papers. Even though they only ship to US address, in case I win, I'm out. But oh well! It's all in fun!

My second layout is also based on the same recipe, but I forgot to background stamp, which I only realized after I was finished. Bummer! But, I am still pleased with it.
I was also doing this layout for another challenge over on "Just Us Girls" Challenge.
I try to participate as often as I can. This week uses distressing techniques. Which in my case, was done by my turquoise WRMK sweetheart inker (love that l'il guy!)
Another collection I broke into, and I just love the colors. This collection is Fancy Pants Designs 'Park Bench'....another fabulous collection. Look at the colors! Everything is from FP, except the tags in the bottom right and top left corner---those are from MME. 'Play' ticket is from Tim Holtz.

My final layout was done after my DD had another tantrum yesterday. And feeling 'yucky' after she finally fell asleep, I created this layout of her. It was kind of an eye opener for me....and heart wrenching.
This layout was done with Echo Park 'Sweet Girl' Collection. This is such a fun collection! I used various letters from American Crafts ('I'), EK Success (Scrabble letters 'SEE'), and Making Memories ('MYSELF'), Cardstock is from Ranger.

That's it for me today. I hope to get some more crafting done. It's going to be another crazy week for me, so I'm hoping to get my creative juices depleted...ha!

On another note: Want a chance to win some Faber Castell goodies??
Want to see some awesome creations?? Check out Alexandra's blog...and maybe you'll get lucky! My fingers are crossed!

Be safe. Get crafty.
