I got crafty....

Hi y'all!

WOW! It's been 2 weeks since my last post. I apologize....life has thrown me a few curve balls lately. Lots of drama, and stress! I won't bore you with the details, that's not what I want to blog about.

So, as some of you may know, my fave online site has shut down their retail site, but not their social site, which is a small relief. But it seemed, and it still does, to not have their weekly challenge, and the usual banter on the site. BUT!!! The weekly challenges have made their return!! woot woot! :)

Cocoa creations # 1--- Let's Celebrate!

Make a card, layout, or project to celebrate someone's birthday! Easy peasy!

Here's my entry.  I used BG paper (red), MME washi tape, the 'candles' are rolled papers from EP and MME,  there's Cosmo Cricket rub ons on the washi tape. The 'Celebrate'  rub on, The twine, or 'wicks' are from Queen and Co.

I then decided to check out other challenge blogs---I felt like I needed to change my train of thought, that's how bad my thoughts were going...seriously, not pretty! But it's much better now, don't worry!

Now I also like DCWV...their stacks are pretty darn cool. I don't have many, as they are expensive to ship from the States, because, well, they're Stacks, and pretty heavy!! And I do not get to Michael's too often to purchase them, with my coupon that is!! I refuse to pay almost 30$ for a stack of papers, even if they are beautiful!! Anyways, I scored big time, and I mean BIG time with the purchase of this stack. Nine bucks for this Stack and the rubons included, found in the liquidation part of Walmart! It's the SWEET stack, and yep! It was a SWEET deal indeed! lol

So, I took on their sketch for the month of May. My first time. And I'm not so sure of it. But it's kinda cute...but kinda missing something.

Of course, my subject was my little monkey April. Cheeky monkey/monster...depending on the hour/day...lol.

I then decided to tackle another challenge.

Yeah baby!

I made this card out of my scraps for the Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenge #101--Scrap Attack, which can be found here.

Here's my entry. I used my scraps from Carta Bella True Friends and EP Sweet Girl (2 of my current fave kits of ALL time!!). A few scraps from other EP papers, and MME papers. The sentiment is from Elle's Studio. I also used my sewing machine--can you believe that??!! Say WHAT?? haha.

So those are my crafty projects today----I definitely need to do this---thank you Keith, for letting me getting crafty!!

Now, I believe I am going to pop a movie on, and watch it with my kids!

Have a great night. Get crafty. Be safe.

NSD challenges.....completed!

Happy Thursday to you all!

I hope your week is going well.

Mine--ech! lol. But we won't be going into that!

Saturday past was National Scrapbooking Day! My favorite online scrapbook store, Crop Chocolate, had challenges issued. Soooo...I took their challenges, and did the best that I could! Let me say, they tested me....they really did! I was brought out of my comfort zone many times, and cried a few! lol Call it emotions...yep, I was a mess! Even DD  was comforting me, patting me on my shoulder, telling me that I can try again! lol. Yeah, I was a mess!

Challenge #1 was: Homage to summer. Create something with a sunburst.

Challenge #2:Tic Tac Toe. We had to choose 3 items in the sketch provided , and create with them.
I choose stamp, button, lace.

Challenge #3: Buttons & Bows

Challenge #4: Bugs . This challenge was to be made with a bug, and something out of one's comfort zone. Well, for me, using ribbon is a hard thing to do....Can never get the ribbon to align properly, and I find that it looks 'goofy' on my creations. The bugs....well, ladybugs are adorable.

Challenge #5:Bling, bling, bling!

Challenge #6: Crafting the window to our souls.

Challenge # 7: This is the card that never ends. OK, for this challenge, it caused me the most grief.  It took me almost (or more!) 6 hours to figure this out. I look it up on Youtube, watched various videos, looked at step by step tutorials, yeesh! I cried, I had 2 meltdowns.....yeah, alot of grief. BUT! I succeeded!! YAY! Did I like this challenge---nope. But it's done, and I am proud that I did it.

Challenge #8: Scrap and sketch challenge. I think this was my favorite! Probably because I broke out my latest collection kit from Echo Park, Sweet Girl. I must say that I am in completely in love with this kit. I think I am going to get a few more pads....they are that awesome!

So, that's it.

All the challenges completed. Phew! Now to clean up my craft room---looks like a tornado passed through!

Have a great week. Be safe. Get crafty!

Loving my kids!

Happy Thursday! Hope today is a great day for you all!

It snowed here overnight. Again. My boys are home from school. Again. They went back to sleep. Lucky! lol

My little Miss Muffet (my DD) is up and about. Again. Yesterday, she kept me on my toes. Again. lol. She also says the funniest things.

I was trying to make a card for my MIL's birthday this weekend. She's turning 62 years young. She's a great gal---I consider myself very fortunate to have a MIL like her.

Anyhow, I was trying to come up with a card design. I wanted it to be really, really special....and I came up with nothing. And it was frustrating!! So I am at my craft desk, with my fingers rubbing my temples (I guess I was trying to make an idea come to my head??) My DD, April, asked me what I was doing. I told her that I was trying to get an idea out of my head. Not thinking much of what I said, I continued what I was doing. She brought her chair over to my chair, stood up on it, and grabbed my head in her hands. I was a little surprised. But I thought that perhaps she wanted a hug or a kiss. Nope. She looked at the top of my head, and told me that there was nothing come out of my head. Huh? Then I laughed because she took my comment literally. Idea coming out of my head, indeed! lol

Fast forward to the evening when it was bedtime. I was preparing to put her to bed. Bedtime ritual: bath, snack, bathroom business, bedtime story, snuggle time. That's how it is. I sometimes have to tell her daddy and brothers that it is her bedtime, so they'll take the 'hint' and leave us alone. Doesn't always work, though. (As if I have to wonder why. Men + hints= huh?) So, I told her that we have to kick Daddy out of the room. Again, she took me literally. And I mean literally. lol. She told her Daddy that it was her bedtime and that he had to leave. And she pushing him out, and then she kicks him. Literally. She turns to me and says with a big grin, 'I kicked out Daddy for you, Mom!' Again, I had to laugh. I have to be careful what I say to this kid!!

Anyways, that's my daughter. She's a whirlwind of ....a little bit of everything!
My boys were like that at her age. Double trouble I used to call them!lol

So this week's challenge over at cropchocolate.com was stamped background. I actually had difficulty with this one---go figure. I'm losing my crafty mojo, it seems. Yeesh!

Here's my take:

Of my kids. Again.
So that's my week in a nutshell.

Have a great week. Get crafty. Be safe!
