CHA Wishlist...Part 1

Happy Sunday!
I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous day,
even though it is rainy and mild here in our little
part of this wonderful world!

As many of crafty friends new,
CHA (Craft & Hobby Association)
is happening this weekend
 in Anaheim, California,
where various artsy fartsy companies/people
meet to look and showcase their products/works.
(I will be there one day!lol)
These past couple of weeks have
seen some new releases from
many crafty companies.
I have oohed and aaahed,
and drooled, and sadly, shook
my head at some of the releases.. lol
Even though Christmas has just ended,
this show is kinda an exception. Am I right??

So, I though I would share with you all
some of my absolute favorites from the past
couple of weeks:
First up, Bella Blvd.
I will be honest, I was never really a fan of this company.
Then, a new collection was released last year,
Illustrated Faith.
And I was hooked!!!
Bella Blvd. came out with a brand new
collection, She Blooms.

1185_PAPER_PIECES
Beautiful colors!
And Bella Blvd has also extended products to
the ever-growing popular

1247_PRAISE_HIM
1252_WORD_ART

All the basics for bible journaling:
alphabet stickers, numbers, cute icons,
die cut shapes, bible verse prompts,
enamel hearts, washi tape!!!,
cute clips, and more....swoon!
Yeppers, must haves for me!

Another product that has caught my eye
is from the master, Tim Holtz.
From the Idealogy, to alterations, Stampers Anonymous,
whoa!
The first thing that caught my eye,
was the absolute amazing stamp set from
Stampers Anonymous.
First there were Crazy Birds (love!!),
and there will be Crazy Cats!!
EEEEKK!!
So excited!
CMS251
Designed by designer extradoinaire, Kristine Werner,
who I think was the perfect choice to design this set.
Must have for me!!
Another must have:
THIS!

Distress-Crayons
Just like the Distress marker, but in crayon form!
Ummm....YES!!!
And this. New Thinlets from Sizzix:
sizzix13
When I saw this, I
automatically thought that these would be
perfect for Project Life!!

Onwards!
Pinkfresh has come out with more goodies.
Awesome stamp sets, which
I have drooled over.
One appealed to me tremendously, as
it seems it was made for me!
4 x 6 stamp set
Bibliophile by Kaitlin Sheaffer for Pinkfresh Studio
Again, another perfect set for Project Life!

And then there is Prima.
I really love their products.
Especially Julie Nutting!!
And she has come out with more dolls!
I have quite a few, and between myself and my daughter,
they get played with...quite a bit! lol.

Julie_3
SWOON!!!
(I haven't shown these to my little one, yet, as
she will be too excited, and wanting them right away!lol)

Annnnddd.....

Prima has also come out with more watercolor
products!!!
Can I have a woot woot??!!
(In case you did not know, I am a watercolor fanatic!!)

Media coloring book

I think I want every single item here!

HIMCR #233 - Super Scraps Saturday!
Yay!

There is a new sponsor this week, too!

The giveaway is 3 images from Robyn's Fetish
winner's choice!!
There are some really cute images there!!

The Design Team were given a choice of 3 images to play with.
I chose the apple one,
and this is what I created:

I used my Tim Holtz Distress Ink markers to color,
and the papers are from Simple Stories Harvest lane
(an older collection!)
The heart is a word veneer, from stash, colored with
a Pitt artist marker.
The stamped sentiment is from Kelly Purkey Hey dude
stamp set, exclusive to Simon Says Stamp.
A very simple card, but I really like it!

The giveaway is
  $5 gift certificate!

The Design team were given some images to choose
from, and I choose a cute little fella!

Then, it was deciding which colors to use.
And what medium.
oye--decisions, decisions!
I decided on watercolors--a personal favorite.
With the advice of my trusty sidekick,
it was decided that I should use red as my other color.
So, without further adieu,
here is my project for this week:

As you can see. I cheated a bit.
I added a tad of green.
(shhhh! don't say anytthing....!) ;)

What I love about watercolors is that I can control
the intensity of the color.
So, red can be bright, or soft, or even pink.
I used my Derwent watercolor pencils--adore them!

Papers are from Studio Calico Seven Paper-Amelia line.
The red cardstock is from Core-dinations, which
was also embossed with a WRMK embossing folder.
The loopy paper tape is from Basic Grey.
The wood button/nickel is from Jillibean Soup.
I added a bit of Stickle glitter glue to the flowers and buttons.

And there you have it folks!
I hope you can play along!
You have until next Friday to link up your projects!

New Year, New thoughts.....

Happy January 1st, 2016!!
WOW--that is going to take some time to write--2016!
Yowza!
I hope you had a pleasant holiday, and
are still enjoying it!
New Year's Day is always
a bittersweet time for me.
Always has been, for as long as I can remember.
I spend time reflecting on the past year,
and think...and think...and reflect..
Not always good. ;)
2015 was the year for ups and downs.
From my son's back surgery,
purchase of our house,
to job loss of both my husband and I not soon after,
to my youngest starting Kindergarten,
to my sons graduating high school
AND starting college.
Not only starting college, but moving away
to be able to attend college.
Health scare for me.
Then to new employment for both hubby and I.
(what a relief!)
yep, it was a roller coaster year !
2016 is here. For 365 days.
wow!
I don't know what 2016 has planned for us, but
we have to roll with the punches, and stay positive!
One day at a time.

I do have some crafty goals for this year.
I would like to share with you:

*Be more active on my blog.
*Become more familiar with my camera--
take better pictures!!
*Be more consistent with Project Life
*Develop my own style
*Try new techniques--step out of comfort zone

These are just my crafty goals.
And I pretty positive they are attainable!
:)

I have personal goals, lifestyle and health goals.
I am goal orientated this year, it seems!

So, have an amazing day!
I will be back tomorrow with my post for
Hiding In My Craft Room.
Until then,
Be safe. Get crafty!

Cheers!

Happy Saturday!
Happy Holidays!
I hope you all had a safe and happy holiday, and still are!
Ours was...interesting. Lol

Our area ended with a freak windy storm on Thursday.
Which led to power being knocked out for some time.
Thankfully, where we live, because
Of where we live, we have a generator.
And fireplaces. Also, the weather was very mild.
There wasn't any snow on the ground-- it was in the plus temperatures.
Very un-seasonal! Anyways, no power.
Let me say, one does not realize how much they rely on
The electricity until they are without it!
I had started the turkey very early, thankfully,
And it was almost finished by the power decided to take a break.
Finished cooking it on our wood stove.

But, it was all good.

Santa stopped by during the night, and
April almost caught him. She did see him, and tried to
Catch, but Santa was too quick for her!
He did leave lots of goodies for everyone.
Enough of that, right? Onwards!

So, with the holidays, things are a little behind here in blog land,
As you may have noticed. Lol
I have my challenge ready. Had it ready for some
Time, but......you know.
As for the challenge, my internet is not reliable right now, and is
Giving me the hardest time. Grr!

But I will show you my card, and I will edit my post later on,
When Laurie has the official blog up.
As you can, I made a shaker card! They are such fun!
All the. Papers are from DCWV, and the
Stars are actually foam stickers from 3L Adhesives,
With lots of glitter on!
The sequins are from Studio Calico,
And the letters ("CHEER") are from Echo Park.
My girl is coloured with my Prismacolor coloured pencils.

So that is it!

See you soon,  my peeps!
Be safe. Get crafty.

Ode to my Favorite Challenge

Happy Saturday!
wow!
Crunch time--
the big day is almost here!

My college son is home--
he finished up his last exams this past week.
And he did well!!!
So proud of him!
I know his last exam,
Parisian French, was quite
a challenge.
I tried to help him,
as I am bilingual,
but Quebec French
and Parisian French are very different
in writing, grammar terms.
But he did it!

And my little girl is off
Kindergarten for her winter break.
She is pretty excited.
I am blessed--
my 3 children and hubby are with me,
and my pooch!
Love them all!

Enough babbling!

New challenge over on the

HIMCR #230 - Favorite HIMCR 2015 Challenge!

How awesome is that???

My favorite challenge would be either
Freestyle or Favorite Die Cutting machine.

For this card, I used my
Cuttlebug, with one of my
many embossing folders.

(I love embossing folders--!!)

The blue sparkly paper
is from DCWV, cut from
my Cricut machine, from the
Winter Wonderland cartridge.
The snowman stamp is from HOTP,
colored with my Prismacolor
colored pencils.
Although you cannot see it,
the strip is metallic.
sigh--camera is giving me issues...

So, there you have it folks!!
Link up your creations!
Cannot wait to see what you all
have done!
Until next time!

Happy Saturday!
wow!
What a week! a whirlwind week
indeed!
First, it was my birthday this past Wednesday!
A wonderful day with my family,
minus my college boy.
Then, my daughter
woke up with a complete body
rash---all over!
Fun! NOT!
My first thought was chicken pox,
with the way the bumps were.
But nope, the nurse confirmed it.
A food allergy.
and just like her mama, to Kiwis.
More fun. sigh!
She is fine now.
thankfully!

Breathe in, breathe out!
right??

So, today will see hubby and I
finishing up our Christmas shopping

I decided to use this image for
a Project Life spread.
Unfortunately,
my photos are developed--grr! lol
So, I will not post the spread sans photo.
